The Helicopter of The Holy Ghost
Release the third single & video from the forthcoming album ‘Afters’ – entitled ‘TONY GOT A CAR’
‘Canterbury’ inspired aggregation The Helicopter of The Holy Ghost introduce their psychedelic-y Beatles-y side on their new single out July 29th. On this track Mark Morriss, Billy Reeves, Crayola Lectern and Mark Peters are joined on drums by Smiley Barnard of The Alarm/Archive, on bass by Dale Davis of Amy Winehouse's band, and, on 12-string, by Gavin Laird of Telstar Ponies.
‘Tony…’ is one of the songs found on a mini disc that had been saved from the wreckage of the car accident that put band leader Billy Reeves into a coma in September 2001, songs he had forgotten - due to crash-related amnesia. These songs were recently moulded into an album, ‘Afters’ by Reeves, Mark Morriss, (solo artist and singer with the chart-topping guitar-janglers The Bluetones, the band that knocked Oasis off number 1), Mark Peters (of Engineers - Rough Trade included his solo LP ‘Innerland’ in their best albums list of 2018), and Crayola Lectern from Departure Lounge and Bella Union supergroup Lost Horizons.
