15 YEAR ANNIVERSARY EDITION OF OCEANSIZE’S 2010 EPIC – NATIONAL ALBUM DAY 2025 (18th October 2025)

BLACK VINYL 3LP PRESENTED IN GATEFOLD PACKAGING, INCLUDES 6 BONUS TRACKS AND AROUND 30 MINUTES OF PREVIOUSLY UNHEARD MATERIAL

Originally released in 2010, Self Preserved While the Bodies Float Up marked both a culmination and a parting shot – the fourth and final full-length from Oceansize, a band widely regarded as one of the most innovative and uncompromising acts in modern British rock. Now, fifteen years on, this definitive 3LP edition casts fresh light on the landmark album.

Painstakingly remastered and presented across three black vinyl LPs, this anniversary edition includes around 30 minutes of previously unheard material – six bonus tracks, three of which feature newly recorded vocals by Mike Vennart, offering a rare glimpse into alternate futures that never came to pass. Far from studio offcuts, these are fully-formed works, some of which now sound eerily prophetic.

Self-produced and fiercely unfiltered, Self Preserved… was Oceansize at their most direct. From the lurching menace of “Build Us a Rocket Then…” to the ethereal drift of “Pine,” the album pushes extremes in both aggression and atmosphere. Alongside core members Mike Vennart, Gambler, Steve Durose, Mark Heron and Steve Hodson, the record features guest vocals from Simon Neil (Biffy Clyro) and the haunting presence of Claire Lemmon (Sidi Bou Said, ex-Cardiacs).

“Oceansize didn’t just blur genre lines – they exploded them.”
Drowned in Sound

Though Oceansize disbanded shortly after its release, their influence has only grown. Praised for their commitment to artistic evolution, the band quietly redefined the post-rock and prog lexicon for a generation. Self Preserved While the Bodies Float Up stands not as an epilogue, but as a final, formidable statement.

This 15-year anniversary edition of Self Preserved While The Bodies Float Up is presented as a gatefold package with 3 black vinyl LPs. Includes newly remastered audio and six bonus tracks, three of which with newly recorded vocals by Mike Vennart. Pre-order here.
